Igora Color Chart: Royal & Vibrance

Browse every Schwarzkopf Professional Igora shade in one place. This chart includes Igora Royal (permanent) and Igora Vibrance (demi-permanent), with approximate color swatches for each shade.

Igora uses a dash notation to separate level and reflect: 7-1 means level 7, ash reflect. Important: in Igora, 5 after the dash means gold (not mahogany like other brands) and 7 means copper.

Igora numbering system

Schwarzkopf Igora organizes shades as level-reflect:

  • Level (1-10): Color depth. 1 = black, 10 = lightest blonde.
  • Primary reflect: First digit after the dash. -0 = natural, -1 = ash, -5 = gold, -7 = copper, -6 = chocolate/mahogany, -88 = intense red.
  • Double reflects: -11 = intense ash, -88 = extra red, -12 = smokey ash.

Igora Royal is the permanent line: full gray coverage, lift and deposit. Igora Vibrance is ammonia-free demi-permanent: toning, color refresh, and shine.

Note: Igora's reflect numbering differs from the universal standard. Igora's -5 is gold (in other brands, .5 is usually mahogany). The -7 is copper (in other brands, .7 is matte).

Igora Color Chart

Everything you need to know

Igora Royal is ammonia-based permanent color: it lifts, deposits, and covers 100% gray. Igora Vibrance is ammonia-free demi-permanent: it only deposits color, ideal for toning, refreshing, and adding shine. Royal lasts until it grows out, Vibrance lasts 20-25 washes.

Schwarzkopf uses its own reflect system. -5 is gold (in Wella/L'Oreal, .5 is mahogany), -7 is copper (in other brands, .7 is matte), and -6 is chocolate/mahogany. Double digits like -88 or -11 indicate intensified reflects.

Schwarzkopf recommends Igora Royal Developer: 3% (10vol) for tone-on-tone, 6% (20vol) for 1-2 levels of lift and gray coverage, 9% (30vol) for 2-3 levels, 12% (40vol) for maximum lift. For Vibrance, always use the specific Vibrance activator.

Double digits in Igora indicate an intensified reflect. -88 is extra intense red (higher concentration of red pigment), -11 is extra intense ash (more blue-green), -12 is smokey ash (ash with violet touch). They're ideal when you need a very pronounced reflect.
