Igora Vibrance Chart: 16 demi-permanent toner shades

Igora Vibrance is Schwarzkopf Professional's ammonia-free demi-permanent: it deposits color, tones, and adds shine without lifting the natural base. It is the house's go-to toner for freshly lightened blondes and for refreshing mid-lengths and ends between services.

Mix 1:1 with Vibrance activator — gel (more translucent finish) or lotion (more coverage) — at 1.9% for deposit or 4% for extra vibrancy. It processes in about 20 minutes and fades gradually over 20-25 washes with no demarcation line.

How to read a Vibrance shade

Vibrance shares the Schwarzkopf level-reflect dash notation: 9-1 = level 9, ash reflect. Keep the house quirks in mind: -5 is gold and -7 is copper.

  • 0-XX shades (like 0-11): concentrates to intensify or correct, never used alone.
  • Half levels .5 (like 9.5-1): pastels and very light toning shades.

The difference from Royal is not in the code but in the chemistry: Vibrance only deposits. A Vibrance 7-1 over a level 5 base will not give a medium blonde — it will give a toned level 5. Choose the shade with the existing base in mind.

Always 1:1 with Vibrance activator. The gel gives a more translucent, glossy finish — ideal for toning. The lotion gives more coverage and evenness — better for color refresh or gray blending. With 1.9% you deposit tone-on-tone; with 4% you gain vibrancy and a slight lift.

Yes — it is its signature use. After lightening (minimum level 8), mix 1:1 with 1.9% activator, apply to damp hair, and process for about 20 minutes. Popular picks: 9.5-1 for platinum ash, 9-1 for light ash blonde, 0-11 as an anti-yellow corrector.

Between 20 and 25 washes. With no ammonia and minimal cuticle opening, the pigment washes out gradually and evenly — no root line. That is why it is the option for refreshing color between permanent services without stressing the hair.

It blends up to 50% gray — it does not cover it 100%. For full coverage you need the permanent Igora Royal with 6% developer. Vibrance is the choice when the client wants a soft transition or a first color experience.
