Wella Pure Perfection Chart: 30 ammonia-free permanent shades

Pure Perfection is the ammonia-free permanent Wella Professionals launched in September 2026: a short chart of 30 shades over a neutral base that lets you intermix them, with up to 100% gray coverage, per Wella US. Here are all 30 shades with level, reflect and approximate swatch, verified: 20 of them in Wella’s official store and all 30 in a retailer’s live catalog.

The mix is 1:1 with Welloxon Perfect at 6, 9 or 12%, and it develops for 30-40 minutes without heat (15-20 with heat). Wella US lists it as free of ammonia and PPD/PTD, but the same page warns not to use it with a known PPD/PTD allergy, as a severe reaction can still occur.

Looking for the house’s classic permanent with the long reflect chart? That’s Koleston Perfect, in the Wella chart. Same numbering, different chemistry.

How to read a Pure Perfection shade

Pure Perfection uses Wella’s slash numbering: 8/0 = level 8, natural reflect.

  • Level (2-10): depth, from darkest brown to lightest blonde.
  • Reflect: /0 natural, /1 ash, /3 gold, /4 red, /40 copper, /6 violet, /7 brown, /8 pearl.
  • Doubled level (44/0, 55/0, 66/0, 77/0, 88/0): the Intense Naturals, with extra pigment load for stubborn grays.

It shares numbering with Koleston Perfect and Color Touch: an 8/0 means the same in all three. With one difference of its own, the /40 copper, which the classic chart does not have.

Wella Pure Perfection Chart

Everything you need to know

1:1 with Welloxon Perfect, and the developer sets the lift: 6% for gray coverage and up to 1 level, 9% up to 2 levels and 12% up to 3 levels. Development is 30 to 40 minutes without heat, or 15 to 20 with heat.

Wella US claims up to 100% gray coverage for Pure Perfection. For gray, the developer is 6%: the usage instruction reserves it for gray coverage and up to 1 level of lift, and says to apply first to the areas with the highest percentage of gray or white hair. On stubborn gray, the same instructions ask you to saturate well and take very fine sections. The chart also carries the doubled-level shades (44/0, 55/0, 66/0, 77/0, 88/0), which Wella names “Intense … Natural” next to their 4/0, 5/0, 6/0, 7/0 and 8/0 siblings.

No. The formula is declared free of PPD and PTD, but Wella’s own product page warns: do not use it if you have a known PPD/PTD allergy, as a severe reaction may still occur. The skin allergy test does not go away: Wella says to perform it 48 hours prior to every application, even if the person has coloured before.

Wella's usage instructions give two routes. First: a suitable Wella Professionals demi-permanent through mid-lengths and ends. Second, with the product itself: Pure Perfection with Welloxon Perfect 1.9% in a 1:2 ratio, applied through mid-lengths and ends after the root application, developing for up to 20 minutes. That 1.9% at 1:2 is only for refreshing mid-lengths and ends; it does not replace the root mix.

No, they coexist. Koleston Perfect ME+ is the classic permanent with ammonia and the long reflect chart; Pure Perfection is the ammonia-free alternative with a short chart of 30 shades and a neutral base. They share numbering, so moving between them is direct: same code, different chemistry. Compare them in the Wella chart.
