According to Wella’s US pro store, should you fill before coloring?
What the manufacturer says
Wella says so on its US professional store: when hair is too light and the target is more than two levels darker than the starting level, it recommends filling. From 9 to 6 is three levels. The same page has a guideline filling chart with Color Touch for each target level, and says to adjust it to the hair’s porosity.
